Capitol Hill, Liberia – Grand Gedeh County Senator Zoe Emmanuel Pennue, Sr. has strongly rejected allegations linking him or his office to any disruption of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) 22nd Anniversary and Militant’s Day Celebration held in Zwedru, describing the claims as false, misleading, and politically motivated.
In a statement issued from his office, the Grand Gedeh County lawmaker emphasized that neither he, his staff, nor anyone acting on his behalf interfered with, obstructed, or undermined the CDC’s program. He said the allegations are being circulated to create unnecessary political tension and to divert attention from ongoing development efforts in the county.
Senator Pennue stressed that he remains committed to his legislative responsibilities and development agenda, noting that it would be unreasonable to suggest he would abandon key projects—including electrification, education, and road rehabilitation initiatives—to disrupt a political gathering.
He further reaffirmed his respect for democratic principles and the constitutional right of all political parties to freely organize and celebrate their activities without intimidation or interference. At the same time, he challenged those making the accusations to provide credible and verifiable evidence to support their claims.
The Senator also urged political actors in Grand Gedeh County to focus on development priorities rather than engaging in what he described as politically driven smear campaigns and misinformation.
He concluded by calling for calm, political tolerance, and responsible public discourse, while reaffirming his commitment to serving the people of Grand Gedeh County.
