Monrovia — The Deputy Commissioner General for Administrative Affairs (DCGAA) of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Samuel Bennett, Jr., today kicked off a nationwide tour aimed at assessing the working conditions of LRA staff assigned at Tax Business Offices (TBOs) and Customs Business Offices (CBOs) across the country.
Upon arrival in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, Mr. Bennett commended the dedicated staff at both the Buchanan TBO and CBO for their remarkable work and unwavering commitment to duty.
He encouraged them to remain steadfast in collecting lawful revenues for Liberia.
Mr. Bennett conveyed that Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah and the entire senior management team were proud of the sacrifices and outstanding service being rendered by field staff across the country.
He explained that the purpose of his tour is to personally assess the challenges and needs of LRA outstation offices and explore practical solutions to address them through the upcoming 2026 national budget.
“We are now working on the budget for 2026. Visiting you in person allows us to see firsthand the issues you face so that we can make informed budgetary decisions and implement the right interventions to improve working conditions and strengthen revenue collection,” Mr. Bennett stated.
Officials and staff at the Buchanan TBO and CBO expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that they were delighted to have the “Chief” and his team on the ground to see things for themselves.
They highlighted the need for renovations, improved logistics, and other essential support to boost their capacity and help achieve the LRA’s goal of reaching one billion in revenue.
The DCGA’s delegation includes the Assistant Commissioner for Human Resources, who is addressing staff welfare concerns; the Assistant Commissioner for General Services, focusing on facility and infrastructure issues; the Nanager for Rural Tax, who is affirming challenges faced by local officer, and other senior representatives from Domestic Tax, Customs, Budget & Finance, and Communications, all playing unique roles in the exercise.
The nationwide tour underscores management’s commitment to enhancing staff welfare, improving working environments, and ultimately strengthening Liberia’s revenue mobilization efforts.
