Monrovia — The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) today, December 8, officially launched its festive season enforcement operation code-named Operation Clean Wave.
According to a statement from the LDEA, the operation is designed to intensify nationwide efforts against drug trafficking, drug abuse, and criminal activities during the festive season.
The objective of the operation is to ensure safe, secure, and orderly festive celebrations across the country.
It also seeks to disrupt drug trafficking, networks, and drug-related offenses through high-visibility patrols, surveillance, and intelligence action, ensure safer communities, and strengthen inter-agency cooperation and collaboration to secure public places, transport corridors, entertainment hubs, and border points.
During the launch of the operation briefing, OIC Biago stressed officers’ conduct and professionalism.
All officers are expected to uphold integrity, discipline, and courtesy throughout the operation while applying enforcement with fairness, respect for human rights, and compliance.
Lastly, he cautioned them to work in pairs/teams, never compromising officers’ safety.
