Monrovia — Prominent exiled Liberian activist Martin K.N. Kollie has issued a glowing endorsement of Nimba County Superintendent Ma Kou Meapeh Gono, citing her “visionary leadership” following the county’s recent sporting success.
Kollie’s remarks followed Nimba County’s victory over Grand Kru in the National County Meet on January 18, 2026. The Superintendent was widely seen as a driving force behind the team’s morale and preparation throughout the tournament.
The activist acknowledged that Supt. Gono is rapidly transforming Nimba into a hub for tourism and sustainable development, highlighting her ability to achieve significant milestones in a short period through “passion and dedication.”
Beyond her administrative duties, Kollie specifically congratulated the Superintendent for the football championship win, using the popular slogan, “Yaa Go Nimba Ya Cea.”
Superintendent Gono has been gaining traction for her hands-on approach to local governance. Under her leadership, she has further elevated Nimba as a beacon for tourism with the construction of a state-of-the-art guest house designed to host VIPs visiting the county.
Kollie concluded by urging Liberians to recognize Gono’s efforts in building what he termed a “glorious Nimba.”
