Monrovia — The Organizing Committee of the National Infrastructure Conference 2026 has issued a formal apology to former Minister of Public Works, Hon. Ruth Coker Collins, following her exclusion from the event’s initial invitation list.
In an open response released today, the Committee characterized the omission as an “unfortunate oversight” and an “institutional lapse,” reaffirming their respect for Collins’ professional expertise and her contributions to Liberia’s development.
In a statement, The Committee accepted full responsibility for the oversight, noting that it does not reflect the high regard held for the former Minister.
“Recognizing that infrastructure transcends political administrations, the Committee emphasized the importance of institutional memory in shaping the nation’s future,” a statement from MPW said.
Hon. Ruth Coker Collins has been officially invited to participate in Day 3 (Wednesday, January 21), which focuses on resilient infrastructure, road connectivity, and climate change integration.
The Committee expressed gratitude for Collins’ willingness to contribute despite the initial snub, stating that her participation is vital for honest dialogue across different generations of leadership.
