Monrovia, Liberia – A high-level delegation of business executives from Alka Power and BFS Global Development & Mining SARL visited the Liberian House of Representatives on Wednesday, February 25, to explore ways to tap into Liberia’s vast investment potential.
During an introductory meeting with members of the House of Representatives, Alka Power CEO Raana Syed emphasized the company’s mission to expand access to clean and reliable energy. She noted that these efforts align with the country’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development and Prosperity (AAID) 2025–2030.

Syed highlighted that reliable energy plays a critical role in strengthening healthcare, education, agriculture, and community development nationwide.
“Our mission is to expand sustainable energy access, strengthen essential systems, and create opportunities where they are needed most,” Syed said. “Alka Power stands ready to be a committed partner in Liberia’s clinics, classrooms, farms, and communities.”
According to Syed, Alka Power is supporting renewable-energy-powered irrigation systems, clean energy storage, and community-based power initiatives. These projects are designed to enhance agricultural productivity, improve healthcare delivery, and provide stable electricity for schools and institutions. The company is also collaborating with government ministries and local leaders to ensure energy access reaches communities across the country.

Meanwhile, BFS Global Development & Mining SARL announced a vision focused on building a stronger, greener, and more prosperous Liberia. In a statement signed by Chairman and Executive Officer Mohamed Abdellahi Diangoura, the company expressed pride in partnering with Liberians and members of the African diaspora to support national growth.
The vision statement highlights BFS’s commitment to serving Liberia in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), positioning the company as a development partner dedicated to collaboration, sustainability, and economic progress.
BFS emphasized its unity with the Liberian people and international partners in advancing responsible mining, infrastructure development, and investment initiatives that contribute to long-term national prosperity.

Both companies underscored the importance of private-sector partnerships in complementing government efforts to strengthen Liberia’s economy, expand infrastructure, and improve living standards. Their combined commitments reflect growing confidence among private-sector leaders in Liberia’s development potential, particularly in advancing clean energy, sustainable industry, and inclusive economic growth.
Together, the companies stated that their efforts aim to help power a greener, healthier, and more prosperous Liberia for future generations.
