Monrovia, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has confirmed that officers assigned to Zone 1 on Bushrod Island have arrested a 25-year-old man for unlawful possession of a firearm.
The suspect, identified as Blessing Kamanta, was arrested on February 26, 2026, during a planned law enforcement operation conducted in Logan Town. The operation took place at a location commonly known as “Medicine Block.”
Kamanta, a resident of the area, was apprehended in connection with the possession and alleged sale of a handgun believed to have been intended for unlawful and potentially lethal use.
Upon preliminary questioning, the suspect admitted to the offense and informed investigators that the firearm was taken from an individual identified as Sarus, also known as “Truth.”
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
