Monrovia, Liberia: — The General Services Agency (GSA) has officially launched its Five-Year Strategic Plan, outlining a comprehensive roadmap aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing service delivery, and reforming key operational frameworks across government.
Speaking at the launch, the Director General of the GSA, Hon. Galakpai W. Kortimai reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to fully implement the strategic plan. He emphasized that the plan prioritizes critical reforms, including efforts to amend the Act establishing the GSA, improve service delivery to Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs), enforce a robust government fleet policy, and ensure proper maintenance of government properties nationwide.
“The success of this strategic plan will depend on our collective commitment to reform and accountability,” Hon. Kortimai stated. “We must reposition the GSA as a modern, efficient, and service-oriented institution that meets the growing demands of government operations.”
Launching the strategic plan and delivering remarks on behalf of the vice president, Mr. MacDonald Metzer, Deputy Chief of Staff in the Office of the Vice President, congratulated the GSA for developing what he described as a forward-looking and impactful strategy plan. He called on staff of the agency to take ownership of the plan and lead its implementation.
“The staff are the engine of this strategic plan,” Mr. Metzer noted. “Its success rests on your dedication, innovation, and willingness to drive change within the institution.”
The well-attended program brought together representatives from several key government institutions, including the Liberia Institute of Public Administration (LIPA), the Environmental Protection Agency, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Local Government, the Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC), and the Law Reform Commission, among others.
Stakeholders at the event lauded the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will strengthen governance systems, improve accountability, and promote efficient public service delivery across Liberia.
The Five-Year Strategic Plan is expected to serve as a guiding framework for the GSA’s operations, ensuring alignment with national development priorities while fostering transparency and sustainability in the management of government assets and services.
