Bo, Grand Cape Mount, Liberia: — The Chief Executive Officer of Pavifort, Alimou Sanu Barrie, has assured Liberians of high-quality and durable road infrastructure as his company embarks on the ambitious Western Corridors road project.
Speaking to journalists following the official groundbreaking ceremony in Bo Waterside, Barrie expressed strong confidence in Pavifort’s technical and operational capacity to execute the project to international standards.
He thanked the Government of Liberia for the trust placed in his company, describing the contract as a landmark assignment that underscores Pavifort’s growing footprint across Africa.
Barrie emphasized that his company, which is currently operating in five African countries, has built a reputation for excellence in road construction and is committed to maintaining that standard in Liberia. “Our reputation is on the line,” he declared, assuring the public that the roads will be constructed with durability and long-term performance in mind.
In a major commitment, the Pavifort CEO disclosed that the company will take responsibility for maintaining the roads for a period of 25 years, a move aimed at ensuring sustainability and continued quality long after construction is completed.
The Western Corridor project will cover approximately 255 kilometers of key primary roads, marking one of the most significant infrastructure undertakings in recent times.
Among the major components is the expansion of the St. Paul Bridge to Klay highway into a four-lane carriageway over a 38-kilometer stretch. Additional works include the rehabilitation of the 79-kilometer Klay to Bo Waterside route, the 22-kilometer Klay to Tubmanburg corridor, and the 30-kilometer Madina Junction to Robertsport road.
These critical upgrades are expected to dramatically enhance connectivity across western Liberia and strengthen trade and cross-border movement within the Mano River sub-region.
Barrie noted that beyond road construction, the initiative represents a transformative investment in Liberia’s transport infrastructure.
He pointed out that the project is poised to generate significant economic benefits, including job creation, improved access to markets, and increased regional integration.
Observers have described the project as a game-changer for national development, with far-reaching impacts on trade facilitation and economic growth.
With construction now underway, all eyes will be on Pavifort to deliver on its promises and set a new benchmark for infrastructure development in Liberia.
