Monrovia, Liberia — The National Insurance Corporation of Liberia (NICOL), through its Acting Director General, Abdullah Swaray, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting Liberia’s growing housing sector through comprehensive insurance protection and strategic partnership with the National Housing Authority (NHA).
Speaking at the National Housing Authority Off-Takers Conference, NICOL participated in a high-level panel discussion on the theme: “De-risking Housing Investment in Liberia.”
During the discussion, NICOL emphasized the critical role insurance plays across the entire housing value chain before construction, during construction, and after occupancy.
The institution highlighted that insurance remains a key pillar in protecting homeowners, developers, contractors, lenders, and off-takers from unforeseen risks and financial losses associated with housing projects.
According to Acting Director General Abdullah Swaray, the availability of reliable insurance solutions is essential in strengthening investor confidence, ensuring sustainability, and promoting long-term growth within Liberia’s housing sector.
He noted that various classes of insurance can be tailored to support home ownership and construction projects, thereby reducing risks and creating a safer environment for housing investments nationwide.
NICOL also used the conference to reaffirm its readiness to partner with the National Housing Authority in providing comprehensive insurance coverage for the country’s housing ecosystem as Liberia continues efforts to address its housing challenges and expand access to affordable homes.
