MONROVIA — The Joint Public Accounts, Expenditure and Audit Committee of the 55th Legislature will begin its regular public hearing and decentralization exercise on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen transparency in the management of public resources.
The hearing is scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. in the Chamber of the House of Representatives at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
Five government institutions have been invited to appear before the Committee.
They are the Liberia Petroleum Refining Company (LRPC), the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP).
The exercise falls under the constitutional oversight mandate of the Committee to ensure accountability in the use of public funds and to build public trust in government operations.
“The Joint Public Accounts, Expenditure and Audit Committee remains committed to ensuring that public institutions effectively account for resources entrusted to them,” the Committee stated.
The Committee has invited citizens, civil society organizations, government officials, and members of the media to attend and participate in the proceedings.
All institutions listed have been urged to fully cooperate and provide the information required during the hearing.
