Monrovia – In a move to bolster cooperation between the two nations, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia Yin Chengwu met with Rev. Dr. Luther Tarpeh, National Chairman of Liberia’s ruling Unity Party (UP), on Wednesday, September 11, to exchange views on strengthening party-to-party relations.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yin introduced the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) latest initiatives, including a Party-wide education campaign focused on implementing the central leadership’s “eight-point decision” for improving work conduct. He also highlighted the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) and the spirit of President Xi Jinping’s important speech at the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
Ambassador Yin expressed the CPC’s willingness to deepen exchanges of governance experience with the Unity Party. The goal, he stated, is to further enhance the long-standing friendship between China and Liberia and contribute to the well-being of their respective peoples.
In response, Chairman Tarpeh extended his gratitude for China’s consistent and strong support for Liberia’s national development. He reaffirmed the Unity Party’s firm commitment to the one-China principle and expressed the party’s desire to work tirelessly to promote the development of relations between the two countries and their political parties. The meeting underscored the ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic and political ties, setting a clear path for future collaboration.
