Monrovia, Montserrado County – The Commissioner General of the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) James Dorbor Jallah today assured Nova Marine Carriers that Liberia is open for business, echoing President Joseph Nyuman Boakai’s repeated call for investment.
“Liberia is ready for business of all kinds—whether in merchandising, agriculture, or shipping. The prospects are huge, and you are welcome to explore and partner in any sector,” CG Jallah told the Nova Marine Carriers delegation during a courtesy visit to the LRA headquarters on Monday.
Nova Marine Carriers, founded in 1981 and headquartered in Lugano, Switzerland, is a leading Swiss-Italian maritime logistics and dry bulk shipping company. With a fleet of about 80 to more than 100 vessels—including modern bulk carriers and specialized ships—the company operates globally, handling cargoes across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and other major trade routes. Nova is known for its reliability, sustainability, and innovation, serving industries such as steel, cement, and construction.
Bas Van Steijnen, Chief Risk Officer, who led the delegation, said the company was exploring investment opportunities as a way of expanding its reach and creating new prospects.
In response, CG Jallah assured the delegation of the LRA’s support. “We are here to help you, and we encourage you to invest in our economy. Whenever you need assistance on tax matters, reach out to us; we will guide you to get on the right path and remain compliant with our laws,” he emphasized.
