Monrovia, Liberia — The Liberia National Police (LNP) has announced temporary traffic diversions for this Saturday, October 18, 2025, to accommodate the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Headquarters of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). The measures are being put in place to ensure public safety and manage the flow of vehicles around the ceremony area.
The traffic adjustments will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. until the evening hours. The LNP is urging all road users to take note of the changes to prevent congestion.
Key Traffic Measures:
Vehicles traveling from Central Monrovia will be diverted and must use the Congo Town back road.
Vehicles traveling from Paynesville toward Central Monrovia will be permitted to proceed along their usual routes.
Operators of motorbikes and auto-rickshaws (keh-keh) are also reminded that existing restrictions in designated zones will be strictly enforced throughout the day.
The LNP emphasized that these temporary adjustments are essential for the orderly and safe conduct of the ceremony and for the safety of all road users.
“The LNP appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as these temporary adjustments are necessary to ensure the safety of all road users and the orderly conduct of the ceremony,” the police statement read. “We regret any inconvenience this may cause and assure the public that normal traffic flow will resume immediately after the event.”
