Monrovia — The newly inaugurated President of the Legislative Press Pool, Emmanuel Kollie, has vowed to transform the organization into a stronger, more professional, and respected media institution committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical journalism within the Liberian Legislature.
Delivering his inaugural address in Monrovia, Kollie expressed profound gratitude to members for their confidence in his leadership.
He acknowledged the challenges ahead but reaffirmed his commitment to repositioning LEGISPOOL as a driving force in strengthening legislative reporting and bridging the information gap between lawmakers and citizens.
The new LEGISPOOL leader paid tribute to his late parents, describing them as the moral foundation of his journey and inspiration for his dedication to service and integrity.
Kollie outlined an ambitious Six-Pillar Agenda aimed at revitalizing the institution and enhancing its national impact. His agenda focuses on:
Professional Development and Training for Members;
Institutional Strengthening and Good Governance;
Enhanced Visibility and Public Engagement;
Media Independence and Ethical Standards;
Capacity Building and Partnerships; and
Unity, Teamwork, and Shared Purpose.
He called on fellow journalists, development partners, and relevant stakeholders to join forces in achieving these goals, stressing that progress can only be made through collective action.
“Together, we can make LEGISPOOL a model of responsible journalism—one that champions truth, transparency, and the voice of the people,” Kollie declared to loud applause.
Kollie concluded his speech with a call for solidarity and professionalism, urging members to uphold journalistic integrity and work together in service to the nation.
The event was attended by several journalists and lawmakers, reflecting strong support for the new leadership and its vision for a vibrant, professional Legislative Press Corps.
