Grand Kru, Liberia — The Principal of Juduken Elementary and Junior High School in Wedable Education District has voiced serious concerns over the poor learning environment and lack of adequate manpower affecting the institution.
Speaking to reporters over the weekend, the principal of the institution Gibson Doe described the school’s condition as “deplorable,” citing damaged classrooms, shortage of learning materials, and inadequate number of teachers as major challenges hindering effective learning.
He emphasized that the current situation is undermining students’ academic performance and called on the Ministry of Education, local authorities, and humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently.
Meanwhile, the school which runs from ECD to 8th grade contain only four class room teachers with the estimated enrollment of 97 students this year.
Mr. Doe said students are willing to learn, but the condition of the school makes it difficult for learning to take place effectively; therefore called for the need of teachers, chairs, blackboards, and basic facilities to operate smoothly.
