Monrovia — Liberia First Movement (LFM) National Chairperson, Mr. Leayea E. Togba, Jr. has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National Secretary General of the Inter-Party Consultative Committee (IPCC) in the upcoming Secretariat Elections slated for next month.
In a formal communication dated November 26, 2025 and addressed to the Office of the Chairperson of the IPCC Ad-Hoc Election Committee at the National Elections Commission (NEC), Mr. Togba announced his candidacy while seeking support during the process.
The highly anticipated elections are scheduled to take place on December 9, 2025, in Gbarnga, Bong County.
In his declaration letter, Mr. Togba emphasized his readiness to serve the body which acts as the critical liaison between political stakeholders and the electoral commission.
“I believe my skills, expertise, and experience make me a strong candidate for this position, and I am confident that I can serve the IPCC effectively, efficiently, and contribute to its success,” Togba stated in his letter.
As the political community prepares to converge in Gbarnga next month, the competition for the Secretariat is expected to be intense. The IPCC plays a vital role in maintaining dialogue and resolving disputes among political parties in Liberia, making the Secretary General position central to the smooth operation of the Liberia’s multi-party democracy.
