Monrovia — The Liberia National Fine Service has concluded validation of its strategic plan 2025 – 2029 with a request for partners to play pivotal roles in creating a document that sustainably empower the LNFS in its mandate to save lives and properties through fire prevention and firefighting.
LNFS Director General, G. Warsuwah Barvoul, Sr. called on partners to craft meaningful interventions and strategy that will make the strategic plan a “living document.”
He made the request recently during the LNFS strategic plan 2025 – 2029 validation process at the Lutheran Compound on 13th Street in Sinkor.
DG Barvoul said the plan is a roadmap that will define the LNFS mission, vision and values and will gives detail plan of how the entity can move from its current status to a desire future state.
” A Think Tank was tasked to develop a roadmap that led us here today,” DG Barvoul said. ” The Strategic Plan 2025 – 2029 is a roadmap that will define the Liberia National Fine Service mission, vision, values, and give a detailed plan of how we can move from our current state to a desire future state,” he added.
However, he noted that without a strategic plan the fire service can not be effective, accountable and achieve its goal and objective.
The LNFS boss further said that the plan will empower the entity in fire safety and prevention measures, firefighting,investigation, service delivery,fire free community issues as well as determined, analyzed and address fire outbreaks in the country.
Fire Chief Barvoul also added that the plan validation exercise identified the LNFS strength, weaknesses, opportunities and trend which are paramount in the discharge of their functions and responsibilities.
He named capacity building and human resource development, leadership and supervisor,logistical gap, institutional and administrative governance, technology and innovation advancement as key components in the agency strategic plan 2025 – 2029.
Also, Water Environment Climate Action Network ( WECAN) Executive Director, Harrison N. Paye who gave an overview of its partnership with the LNFS said his organization worked with the LNFS in developing the strategy plan to meet current realities in firefighting and prevention.
He said the plan looks deeper into infrastructure development for the LNFS, personnel recruitment,logistical constraints, communication modules amongst other.
The validation process was attended by key stakeholders including representatives from the Ministry of Justice, Liberia Petroleum Refining Corporation, Liberia Immigration Service, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, Governance Commission, Medica Liberia,National Disaster Management Agency Orange Liberia,IDLO amongst others
The validation is as a result of thorough planning and deliberations since 2024 intended to brand the LNFS to meet up with current realities in fire fighting and prevention mechanisms.
