Monrovia – The Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Labour (MOL) has made an upward adjustment in the annual cost of Alien Work Permits for foreign workers in the country from US$1,000 to US$3,000.
The Minister of Labour, Cooper W. Kruah made the pronouncement at a Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism press briefing today, September 4, 2025 in Monrovia.
The measure which takes effect immediately, Cllr. Kruah said is intended to create greater employment opportunities for Liberians in the private sector and to reduce the number of foreign workers occupying positions that qualified Liberians are capable of performing.
The Ministry calls on all employers, institutions, and foreign employees to take note of the directive and govern themselves accordingly.
