Monrovia – The Liberia National Police has, with heartbreaking sense of feeling, confirmed the passing of one of its officers in a tragic road accident in Monrovia.
In a statement of acknowledgement, the LNP said, “The Liberia National Police acknowledges with deep sorrow the reported passing of Officer Mark D. Bracewell, who was reportedly killed while on duty. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and loved ones during this difficult time, and will release an official statement once full details are confirmed,” a statement from the LNP stated.
Reports on the night of Saturday, September 27, 2025 shocked Liberians of a “tragic” road accident around the Gabriel Tucker Bridge in Monrovia, an area prone to road traffic accident.
The incident, according to reports, involved a speeding Taxi that crushed an LNP officer which Police Authority has now confirmed as Mark D. Bracewell.
Officer Bracewell instantly died on the scene with visible broken head after he was smashed to the floor and rolled over with the speeding Taxi, one eyewitness confirmed to The Informer Newspaper.
But, following the devastating incident, the LNP has confirmed the situation and vowed to release subsequent update on the accident.
