Monrovia โ The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA), Telecom giant Orange and Ecobank Liberia have launched a groundbreaking Integrated system that will allow citizens to pay taxes and fees for services offered across 18 government ministries and agencies directly from their mobile phones, even without internet access.
The new platform launched today in Monrovia, seamlessly links Orange Money with the Liberia Integrated Tax Administration System (LITAS), providing a secure and convenient way for taxpayers to fulfill their obligations. Upon successful payment, users will instantly receive an SMS receipt confirming all transaction details, ensuring transparency and ease of reconciliation.
Key stakeholders from the LRA, Orange and Ecobank were in attendance at the launch of the event.
LRA Acting Commissioner General Gabriel Montgomery, Orange Money CEO Maxwell Dodd, and Ecobank Liberia Managing Director Salamata Dillo all emphasized the profound significance of this collaboration in making tax payments easier, more convenient, and widely accessible for all taxpayers across Liberia.
Acting Commissioner General Montgomery highlighted the LRA’s commitment to leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve compliance. “This platform is a testament to our dedication to creating a more efficient and taxpayer-friendly environment,” he stated.
Maxwell Dodd, CEO of Orange Money, reiterated Orange Liberia’s commitment to financial inclusion and digital innovation. “We are proud to partner with the LRA and Ecobank to bring this essential service to Liberians, empowering them to manage their financial obligations with unprecedented ease,” Dodd remarked.
