Freetown, Sierra Leone—Inspector General (IG) of the Liberia National Police (LNP), Gregory Coleman, has praised the warm reception he received upon arrival in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Sunday ahead of a crucial regional security meeting.
In a statement today on his official Facebook page, IG Coleman praised his Sierra Leonian Counterpart for the warm embrace upon his arrival in the Sierra Leonian Capital.
The engagement is the latest meeting of the West Africa Police Chiefs Committee (WAPCCO) and is scheduled to run from Monday, November 17, to Friday, November 21, 2025.
With a focus to strengthen regional cooperation, IG Coleman is joining his counterparts, the Police Chiefs of Sierra Leone and The Gambia, for the high-level talks. The central objectives of this gathering are explicitly focused on enhancing sub-regional stability by Strengthening Regional Cooperation, Deepening Intelligence Sharing and Advancing Collective Efforts.
IG Coleman expressed optimism for the week ahead, stating, “We look forward to a successful and productive engagement as we continue working toward a safer and more resilient sub region.”
The summit is expected to tackle pressing security challenges, including cross-border crime, drug trafficking, terrorism, and the maintenance of law and order in the lead-up to and aftermath of major regional events.
Outcomes from this WAPCCO engagement are anticipated to shape the joint security operations and cooperative frameworks of the participating nations for the immediate future.
