Monrovia — On October 20, 2025, the Ministry of Education (MOE) welcomed the World Food Programme (WFP) Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Madam Margot Van Der Velden, and her team to deepen collaboration on expanding Liberia’s School Feeding Program.
Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah reaffirmed that “children cannot learn effectively on an empty stomach”, underscoring the Ministry’s commitment to ensure every child learns well, with access to nutritious daily meals, a release from MOE said.
The Ministry and WFP are working together to make the School Feeding Program a sustainable, nationwide initiative, supported by strong policy reforms, local food sourcing, and digital Meal Cards for transparent delivery.
“Together, we are building a Liberia where every child is nourished, learning, and thriving,” the MOE release concluded.
