Monrovia, Liberia — The National Safety Partnership of Liberia (NASAPAL Inc.) has issued a strong call to action following the release of the Quarterly Accident Statistics Report (January–March 2026) by the Liberia National Police (LNP). The report highlights Liberia’s escalating road safety crisis, with road accidents ranking among the leading causes of death and injury across the country.
NASAPAL, a fully self-funded nonprofit founded in 2008, works tirelessly across Liberia’s 15 counties and is striving to expand its programs into all 73 districts.
The organization emphasizes that public safety is a shared responsibility, calling on families, neighbors, local leaders, and all community stakeholders to unite in reducing preventable deaths.
“Reliable accident data is the cornerstone of any serious public safety strategy,” said NASAPAL. “Access to accurate and timely statistics is essential for saving lives, improving data-driven decision-making, and enhancing national coordination in the fight against road accidents.”
Key NASAPAL Initiatives Include:
Promoting safer road use behaviors among pedestrians, motorcyclists, drivers, and transport operators
Supporting training programs for all road users
Strengthening public safety awareness and education campaigns
Expanding community-based safety programs nationwide.
Advocating for improved enforcement systems and fair officer compensation
NASAPAL commended the LNP and the Ministry of Health for their commitment to accountability and national protection, emphasizing that quarterly reporting and data transparency form the foundation for effective collaboration between government agencies, civil society organizations, development partners, and community leaders.
The organization also highlighted its ongoing partnerships with retired police veterans, community media, and transport unions to strengthen local safety networks. NASAPAL stressed that road violence affects everyone, and none of us knows who the next victim could be.
“Together, we can protect lives and transform Liberia’s public safety landscape,” NASAPAL declared, urging all Liberians to embrace responsible road use behaviors and community engagement.
