Sinoe County District #2 Representative Samson Quejue Wiah has officially launched an ambitious road rehabilitation initiative aimed at reconnecting several underserved communities across Sinoe County, marking what residents describe as a major step toward economic growth and rural transformation.
The initiative, which focuses on improving critical road corridors within the district, is expected to ease transportation challenges, boost local trade, improve access to healthcare and education, and strengthen connectivity between remote communities and urban centers.
Speaking during the launch ceremony, Representative Wiah said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to delivering practical development that directly impacts the lives of ordinary citizens.
“For too long, our people have suffered from bad road conditions that isolated communities and slowed development,” Representative Wiah stated. “This initiative is about restoring hope, improving movement, and creating opportunities for our people.”
Residents and local leaders welcomed the project, describing it as a long-overdue intervention for communities that have remained inaccessible for years, particularly during the rainy season.
The rehabilitation works are expected to target key routes including the Dugbe and Jedepo corridors, areas considered vital to agriculture, commerce, and social services within the district.
Citizens say the deteriorating road conditions had severely affected farmers, traders, students, and healthcare workers, making transportation difficult and increasing the cost of basic commodities.
According to project Rep Wiah, the initiative forms part of a broader development agenda championed by Representative Wiah, which also includes market construction, school rehabilitation, and rural electrification programs.
Community members expressed optimism that the road rehabilitation effort would stimulate economic activities by allowing farmers and local businesses to transport goods more efficiently to surrounding markets.
The launch ceremony brought together local authorities, youth groups, traditional leaders, women organizations, and residents from various communities across District #2.
As rehabilitation works commence, citizens are hopeful that the project will mark the beginning of sustained infrastructure development throughout District #2 and neighboring communities in Sinoe County.
