Monrovia, Liberia — Sinoe County Senator Augustine Chea has raised concerns over the Ministry of Education’s failure to adequately inspect schools across Liberia, stressing the need for stronger oversight within the country’s education sector.
Speaking during a recent session, Senator Chea questioned why the Ministry has not been conducting regular inspections of all schools nationwide, despite ongoing concerns about educational standards, infrastructure, and the quality of learning conditions affecting students.
The Sinoe County lawmaker emphasized that effective monitoring and inspection are essential to ensuring schools operate in line with national education policies and standards.
According to Senator Chea, many schools across the country continue to face serious challenges, including inadequate facilities, lack of qualified teachers, and poor learning environments, issues he believes require immediate attention from the Ministry of Education.
He further noted that consistent inspection exercises would help identify problems affecting schools and improve accountability within the education system.
The senator’s concerns come amid growing public discussions surrounding the quality of education and the need for reforms aimed at strengthening Liberia’s academic sector.
