Monrovia, Liberia: – Former Montserrado County District #8 Representative and a stalwart of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) Acarous Moses Gray has ignited a political firestorm, claiming he has “credible information” that a coordinated effort is underway to expel Representative Yekeh Kolubah from the House of Representatives during today’s session.
In a startling statement posted to his official Facebook page, Gray alleged that the move is being orchestrated directly from the Executive Mansion. He claims that President Joseph Boakai has “insisted” on Kolubah’s removal and has already set the stage for legal action following the expulsion.
“Credible!!! President Boakai has insisted that Yekeh be expelled today by his colleagues and has requested the police to have him immediately arrested for treason after his expulsion,” Gray’s statement read.
A Climate of Tension
Rep. Yekeh Kolubah, a staunch and often abrasive critic of the Boakai administration, has long been a polarizing figure in the Capitol. While Kolubah has faced disciplinary warnings in the past for his rhetoric, an expulsion on the grounds of treason would mark a massive escalation in Liberia’s current political landscape.
Reactions and Uncertainty
The Executive Mansion has not yet officially responded to Gray’s claims, and leadership within the House of Representatives has remained silent on whether an expulsion vote is actually on today’s agenda.
This is a developing story. We will provide updates as the legislative session progresses.
