MONROVIA, LIBERIA – As Liberia observes National Unification Day, the President of the National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia, James L. Hinneh, has called on Liberians to embrace unity, reconciliation, and collective responsibility as the foundation for national progress and sustainable development.
According to Mr. Hinneh, National Unification Day serves as a historic reminder that Liberia can only advance when its people stand together in peace and solidarity, regardless of tribe, religion, political affiliation, or social background.
He noted that the day was established to promote national unity, inclusion, and reconciliation following years of social division and inequality, emphasizing that genuine development cannot be achieved in the absence of peace, cooperation, and a shared national vision.
“As President of the National Customs Brokers Association of Liberia, I believe unification is not only a moral responsibility but also an economic necessity,” Hinneh stated. “A united Liberia creates stronger institutions, promotes investor confidence, enhances trade opportunities, and paves the way for sustainable national growth.”
Mr. Hinneh further stressed that professionals operating at Liberia’s ports and borders witness daily how collaboration, discipline, and professionalism contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic advancement.
He warned that Liberia’s future cannot be built on division, tribalism, or selfish interests, but rather through patriotism, accountability, and a collective commitment to national development.
“As we celebrate this important day, let us recommit ourselves to building a Liberia where every citizen feels valued, included, and empowered,” he added. “Our diversity should never divide us; it should strengthen us.”
Mr. Hinneh then extended warm greetings to all Liberians in observance of National Unification Day and urged citizens to continue working together for a peaceful, united, and prosperous Liberia.
