Monrovia, Liberia – Jerry Kolubah Yogboh Sunday joined members of the Muslim community in District 12 to warmly welcome and celebrate residents returning from the Holy City of Mecca after completing the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the five sacred pillars of Islam.
The colorful gathering brought together Muslim faithful, community leaders, family members, and well-wishers to honor the pilgrims for fulfilling one of the most significant religious obligations in the Islamic faith. The occasion was marked by prayers, thanksgiving, and expressions of gratitude for the pilgrims’ safe return.
Addressing those in attendance, Representative Kolubah described it as a privilege to share in the joyous celebration and recognize the pilgrims’ unwavering faith, devotion, and spiritual commitment.
He noted that completing the pilgrimage to Mecca is a remarkable spiritual achievement that requires dedication, sacrifice, and obedience to Allah, adding that the returning pilgrims serve as an inspiration to the wider Muslim community.
Representative Yogboh prayed that Allah would accept the pilgrims’ Hajj, bless them with good health, wisdom, and prosperity, and reward them abundantly for their devotion.
He also used the occasion to call for greater peace, unity, religious tolerance, and harmony among Liberians, emphasizing that regardless of religious or political differences, the country can only move forward when its people remain united and committed to peaceful coexistence.
The District 12 lawmaker reaffirmed his support for all religious communities within the district, stressing that fostering mutual respect and inclusiveness remains essential to building stronger and more peaceful communities.
The event concluded with prayers for Liberia, its leaders, and the continued promotion of peace, national unity, and religious harmony across the country.
