Sinoe County, Liberia: — Former Representative of District #2, Sinoe County, Hon. Jeremiah W. N. McCauley Sr., has publicly expressed appreciation to members of the National Legislature for their role in advancing the creation of an additional electoral district for Sinoe County, describing the decision as a major step toward strengthening democratic representation and improving political inclusion at the county level.
Speaking in a statement issued to the press, Hon. McCauley commended lawmakers in both the House of Representatives and the Senate who advocated for increased representation for Sinoe County. He noted that their efforts reflect a growing commitment to ensuring that population growth and voter distribution are properly reflected in Liberia’s electoral map.
According to the former lawmaker, the expansion of electoral districts is not only a political development but also a reflection of fairness in governance, allowing citizens to have improved access to representation and development opportunities.
Hon. McCauley emphasized that District #2 continues to record a significant number of registered voters and remains one of the most politically active areas in the county.
He stated that, based on population strength and voter concentration, District #2 deserves careful consideration in the ongoing discussions regarding the placement and structure of the new electoral district.
He further argued that for balanced political representation and equitable development, the proposed new district should be allocated to the Left Bank of Sinoe County.
He explained that the Right Bank currently accommodates Districts #1 and #3, and therefore, situating the new district on the Left Bank would help create a more balanced distribution of political authority and development focus across the county.
Hon. McCauley stressed that such a decision would not only promote fairness but also reduce political imbalance and ensure that all communities in Sinoe County feel adequately represented in national governance structures.
He concluded by calling on citizens, political leaders, and stakeholders to prioritize unity, dialogue, and mutual understanding in all decisions relating to the county’s political restructuring, emphasizing that the ultimate goal should be the collective progress and development of Sinoe County.
