Paynesville — The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has officially launched Taxpayer Appreciation Month 2026 under the theme: “From Vision to Reality: Taxpayers Delivering a Billion-Dollar Budget,” recognizing the critical role taxpayers play in national development.
Speaking at the launch, LRA Commissioner General James Dorbor Jallah described taxpayers as the driving force behind Liberia’s progress, highlighting the country’s record-breaking domestic revenue performance in 2025.
Assistant Commissioner Isaac Beyan Stevens emphasized that paying taxes is more than just a civic obligation; he noted that it represents a direct investment in essential public services—such as roads, healthcare, and education—and the nation’s future.
Also in attendance was Natty B. Davis, President of the Liberia Chamber of Commerce, who officially launched this year’s events. He underscored the importance of tax compliance in supporting national growth, stressing that citizens must fulfill their obligations so the government can, in turn, ensure service delivery and implement vital programs.
The launch brought together key stakeholders, including LRA officials, private sector representatives, and international partners.
Activities planned for this year include:
Stakeholder engagements and a Student Tax Day, promotion of digital services and the launch of a new contact center, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) event and a digital symposium and an awards dinner to honor contributors.
More than 50 taxpayers are expected to be recognized for their exceptional compliance and contributions to national development.
