Monrovia, Liberia — In a remarkable show of personal leadership and compassion, Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, Hon. Cornelia W. Kruah, has dedicated a newly refurbished triage unit at the New Georgia Health Center in Montserrado County.
Unlike many public projects, the renovation was personally initiated and sponsored by Minister Kruah as part of her individual effort to uplift community healthcare delivery and improve service conditions for both patients and medical workers.
The refurbished triage, which serves as the first point of patient screening and emergency attention, now stands as a modern, clean, and functional space designed to enhance the quality of care at the facility.
Speaking during the dedication ceremony, Minister Kruah said her decision to finance the project came from a deep passion for community development and a desire to give back to the people.
“I believe leadership is not only about sitting in offices or attending meetings,” she stated. “It’s about identifying needs in our communities and taking action. This project is my personal contribution to ensuring that the people of New Georgia can receive care in a safe and dignified environment.”
She emphasized that the initiative was not funded by government resources but by her personal support to the center, adding that small acts of compassion can make a big difference in strengthening the nation’s healthcare system.
“We don’t have to wait for government every time,” Minister Kruah added. “Those of us in leadership must sometimes take the lead and do what we can within our means. The health of our people cannot wait.”
The dedication program was attended by community residents, health workers, and local leaders who hailed Minister Kruah for what they described as an extraordinary act of generosity and patriotism.
Mrs. Esther Morris, a nurse at the facility, praised the Minister’s gesture, saying, “We’ve worked here for years under very challenging conditions. This refurbished triage will change how we care for patients and restore the dignity of our work. Minister Kruah has done something truly special for this community.”
Community residents also expressed joy and gratitude in New Georgia, described the initiative as “a shining example of leadership through action.”
Minister Kruah encouraged the staff and community to maintain the facility and continue promoting health awareness among residents, stressing that good health is the foundation for national development.
The dedication ended with a tour of the newly refurbished unit, which includes fresh paintwork, improved lighting, and a reorganized patient reception area. Health workers pledged to keep the facility in good condition as a mark of respect for the Minister’s effort.
The initiative by Hon. Cornelia Kruah has drawn wide commendation as a model of personal responsibility and community impact, reflecting a new wave of leadership focused on action, not rhetoric.
