RIVERCESS COUNTY, LIBERIA — In a major boost to local healthcare accessibility, Grand Bassa County Senator and Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate, Hon. Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence has extolled the successful completion of a three-day free medical and surgical outreach in Rivercess County.
The initiative, spearheaded by The Nyonblee Cares Foundation, brought relief to dozens of citizens who previously lacked access to critical surgical care.
A dedicated medical team successfully performed 77 procedures over the weekend. The intensive medical camp ran continuously from Friday through Sunday.
All surgeries were provided entirely free of charge to residents, targeting highly vulnerable populations.
Taking to her official Facebook handle to express her gratitude, Pro Temp Karnga-Lawrence lauded both her medical team and the local community for their resilience and warm hospitality.
“Thanks to The Nyonblee Cares Foundation for the surgical outreach in Rivercess on the weekend. The medical team has completed 77 free successful surgical procedures from Friday to today, Sunday,” Karnga-Lawrence stated. “Thanks for the beautiful welcome and the love shown to me and our team. This is the care that never stops.”
For many rural communities in Liberia, accessing specialized medical services like surgery remains a massive challenge due to financial constraints and geographic barriers. By bringing a specialized surgical team directly to Rivercess, the Nyonblee Cares Foundation bypassed these hurdles, offering life-changing operations ranging from minor to major procedures.
Local residents turned out in large numbers to welcome the Senate Pro Tempore and her team, expressing deep appreciation for the timely intervention.

According to foundation, this latest outreach in Rivercess is part of a broader, ongoing commitment to deliver high-impact healthcare services to underserved regions across the country.
