Monrovia, Liberia —The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Nimba County Detachment has arrested two suspects, Jeremiah Yarkpawolo, 29, a mechanic, and Morris Kromah, 23, a motorcyclist, both Liberians and residents of Gbarnga, Bong County.
According to a statement from the LDEA, the arrests occurred on November 19, at approximately 8:15 AM after officers discovered 47 packs (470 strips) of Tramadol concealed inside a used car tyre. The suspects were intercepted while transporting the substance from Guinea into Liberia through the Tonwin Sub-Port in Ganta.
The seized narcotics have an estimated street value of LRD 940,000 (approximately USD 5,222).
Both Yarkpawolo and Kromah are undergoing full investigation and will be forwarded to court in accordance with the amended drug law of Liberia.
