Making Our Children Safe Again (MOCSA) has officially dedicated a newly constructed Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Building, naming the facility in honor of Madam Ruth Dössegger in recognition of her unwavering support and valuable contributions to the organization’s humanitarian work.
The dedication ceremony brought together health officials, development partners, community members, and international supporters, all united in celebrating a significant milestone in MOCSA’s journey to improve healthcare delivery for women and children.
Speaking at the event, MOCSA Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ernest Sherman, reflected on the organization’s humble beginnings and remarkable growth over the years.
He noted that what started as a small community-based outreach initiative has now evolved into a structured healthcare facility offering laboratory services, a pharmacy, and comprehensive maternal and child health care.
“This building is more than a structure; it is a symbol of hope, partnership, and our shared commitment to saving lives—especially those of mothers and children,” Mr. Sherman emphasized.
Representing the Ministry of Health, Director of Communications Mr. Augustus Walker applauded MOCSA’s contributions to the national health sector and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to continued collaboration. He described the new MCH facility as a timely intervention that aligns with the government’s efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality across Liberia.
Officials of MOCSA Foundation Switzerland, including President Madam Lucinda Blatty and Madam Sabine Rosenthaler, commended the Liberian team for their dedication, resilience, and transparent leadership. They reaffirmed their foundation’s ongoing support to healthcare development initiatives in Liberia, stressing that sustainable partnerships are key to lasting impact.
The newly dedicated MCH Building stands as a major milestone in MOCSA’s mission to expand access to quality healthcare, particularly for vulnerable women and children. Community members expressed optimism that the facility will significantly improve health outcomes and strengthen trust in local healthcare services.
With this latest achievement, MOCSA continues to position itself as a vital partner in Liberia’s quest for improved maternal and child health and a healthier future for all.
