MONROVIA – The Ministry of Education (MoE) has officially launched the distribution of student health kits, beginning at the Group of 77 Public School in Montserrado County.
Led by Education Minister Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah and Assistant Minister Sona Traore Sesay, the initiative targets the practical barriers that often hinder student attendance and overall well-being. During the launch, Minister Jallah engaged directly with students, emphasizing that hygiene is more than just cleanliness—it is a foundation for confidence, dignity, and academic readiness.
While hygiene is taught in the classroom, many students lack the necessary supplies at home to maintain these standards. To bridge this gap, the Ministry is providing comprehensive health kits for both boys and girls. These include essential hygiene supplies and menstrual care products, specifically designed to ensure that health-related challenges do not keep students away from their desks.
The selection of the Group of 77 Public School—an inclusive institution serving students with disabilities—as the kickoff site underscores the Ministry’s commitment to equity. This launch marks the beginning of a nationwide rollout to selected schools, rooted in the belief that when students’ basic needs are met, they are empowered to show up, participate, and succeed.
