MONROVIA, Liberia – Representative Rugie Yatu Barry of Montserrado County Electoral District #1 has successfully completed a six-week intensive training program in Foreign Service and Diplomacy at the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Hon. Barry was among 61 Liberians, including nine members of the House of Representatives and four legislative staffers, who received certificates during a graduation ceremony held at the C. Cecil Dennis Memorial Auditorium in Monrovia. She graduated as a member of the Noble Class of 2026.
The training covered key areas including international relations, foreign policy, diplomatic protocol, regional integration, global economic affairs, and conflict resolution.
As Vice Chairperson for International Affairs of the Women Legislative Caucus and Chairperson of a Specialized Committee in the House of Representatives, Hon. Barry said the knowledge acquired will strengthen her ability to represent Liberia and advocate for the interests of her constituents on both national and international platforms.
The Office of the Representative described the achievement as a demonstration of her commitment to professional development, effective leadership, and public service.
The office also commended the Gabriel L. Dennis Foreign Service Institute, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, House Speaker Richard N. Koon, and Acting Foreign Minister Ethel David for supporting capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening Liberia’s governance and diplomatic engagement.
Hon. Barry reaffirmed her commitment to serving the people of Montserrado County District #1 and contributing to Liberia’s development through informed legislative and international engagement.
