MONROVIA – The spokesperson for the Liberia National Police (LNP), Sam Collins, has strongly dismissed public allegations regarding ongoing police investigations, urging citizens to rely strictly on official institutional updates rather than claims made on talk radio.
Speaking during a phone-in segment on OK FM’s OK Morning Rush with host Clarence Jackson on Thursday, July 23, 2026, Collins clarified the police force’s stance following controversial statements made on the airwaves by expelled Montserrado County District 10 Representative Yekeh Kolubah.
Investigation Control and Public Trust
Collins emphasized that the LNP has no personal interest in targeting specific individuals and that the public should disregard accusations made by those who are not central to the active investigation.
“Official information will be made by those who are in control of the investigation,” Collins stated. “The public should look out to institutions that are involved with the investigation rather than anybody just calling the radio station… the public will get to know the names of those connected.”
He firmly noted that Yekeh Kolubah has “no authority” to speak on the ongoing proceedings, reiterating that the case is being handled entirely by professionals.
Clarification on Police Personnel
When pressed by host Clarence Jackson regarding whether any police officers are currently under investigation or collusion, Collins maintained he had not received any such reports.
“I have not been informed about any police officer undergoing investigation,” Collins said, though he added that from an official standpoint, anyone proven by evidence to be involved in criminal activity—regardless of their status—would be brought in for questioning.
Confirmation of Key LNP Officials
During the briefing, Jackson questioned Collins to verify the identities and roles of specific individuals mentioned by Kolubah. Collins confirmed the following standard LNP assignments:
Chief of Intelligence: Olu Briggs
Deputy Commissioner for Program Services: Raphael Wilson (identified as “111”)
Chief of Highway Patrol: Warden Kwagbo
Collins concluded by reiterating that the joint security forces are fully on top of the investigation and will formally update the public with verified facts as they emerge.
