MONROVIA, Liberia — The Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC) has expanded its nationwide initiative to digitize public sector operations by presenting essential Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment to the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL).
The handover forms part of the PPCC’s continuous efforts to strengthen the operational capacity of government ministries, agencies, and commissions (MACs) as they transition to Liberia’s Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System.
Advancing Digital Readiness in Public Health
The ICT equipment was formally presented to NPHIL to enhance its procurement unit and ensure seamless integration into the e-GP platform. Dr. Sia Camanor received the technological assets on behalf of NPHIL leadership.
The equipment distribution is part of a broader reform agenda designed to replace paper-based procurement procedures with a streamlined, digital platform. By equipping public health authorities with modern hardware, the PPCC aims to improve access to digital tools, optimize internal workflows, and promote compliance with national procurement standards.
Driving Transparency and Efficiency
According to the PPCC, equipping public institutions with digital resources is a core element of its strategy to build a transparent, accountable, and efficient public procurement environment across Liberia.
The transition to the e-GP system offers several key benefits: Reduced Manual Bureaucracy: Minimizes reliance on physical paperwork and manual filing, Enhanced Access to Information: Provides clearer visibility into public sector tendering and procurement opportunities and Greater Fiscal Accountability: Ensures systematically tracked procurement operations across public agencies.
The support provided to NPHIL represents another step in expanding Liberia’s digital procurement framework, ensuring critical public institutions are equipped to conduct procurement operations digitally.
