Monrovia – The Liberia Football Association (LFA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS), on Friday, October 10, 2025, held a strategic meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, aimed at strengthening sports diplomacy and advancing the gains made during her recent official visit to the Republic of Serbia.
The high-level meeting reaffirmed the growing synergy between diplomacy and sports as a catalyst for youth empowerment and international cooperation. The joint delegation from the LFA and MYS, led by Youth and Sports Minister Cllr. Jeror Cole Bangalu and LFA President Mustapha I. Raji, commended Madam Nyanti for her proactive engagement with the Serbian government, which resulted in landmark commitments to support football and youth development in Liberia.
During the discussions, Minister Nyanti emphasized that football remains one of Liberia’s strongest platforms for promoting peace and security, unity, national pride, and global visibility. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate closely with both institutions to ensure the full implementation of the Serbia-Liberia sports cooperation, particularly support and facilitating training exchanges for the National Team, and advancing academy-level sports initiatives.
Minister Bangalu expressed appreciation to the Minister for her leadership and renewed commitment to aligning sports with Liberia’s broader foreign policy objectives, noting that such partnerships will play a key role in preparing Liberia for upcoming global engagements, including Expo 2027.
The LFA looks forward to working hand in hand with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to translate these diplomatic breakthroughs into tangible growth for Liberian football and the nation’s youth.
