MONROVIA, Liberia — President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has pledged financial support to complete ongoing renovations at the Ministry of Information (MOI) following a comprehensive tour of the facility.
During his working visit, President Boakai was guided through the building by Information Minister Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, who briefed him on the condition of the facility and the status of the renovation project.
Speaking to reporters following the President’s visit, Minister Piah emphasized that as a government-owned property, the Ministry requires adequate backing to ensure its facilities are properly upgraded and maintained.
President Boakai expressed his appreciation to the leadership and staff of the Ministry for their dedication to improving the facility.
Minister Piah disclosed that after inspecting the site and receiving an update on the progress, President Boakai committed funding to ensure the renovation project reaches completion. He noted that the President’s commitment will significantly improve the working environment at the Ministry and strengthen its capacity to carry out its operational mandate.
Furthermore, Minister Piah stated that this financial commitment demonstrates the administration’s recognition of the Ministry’s vital role as the government’s primary institution for public information and strategic communication.
