MONROVIA, Liberia – Sinoe County Senator Crayton Oldman Duncan has continued his nationwide campaign focused on economic liberalization and political awareness, engaging residents of Peace Island in Montserrado County District #10 on issues of national development and citizen empowerment.
During a community outreach held on Saturday, May 30, Senator Duncan met with local leaders, women’s groups, youth organizations, motorcyclists, and residents, where he discussed his vision for a stronger Liberian economy driven by increased local participation and inclusive growth.
Speaking to residents, the Senator stressed the need for Liberians to play a greater role in controlling and benefiting from the country’s economic resources. He also encouraged citizens to remain actively involved in governance processes and national decision-making.
“Our country can only move forward when citizens are empowered economically and actively participate in shaping the future of Liberia,” Senator Duncan told residents.
As part of the engagement, Senator Duncan provided financial assistance to several community-based organizations and groups. The Nimba Concern Women Organization received US$300, while members of the Kpelle Community also received US$300. Additional support was extended to local motorcyclists, youth groups, and media practitioners within the community.
Residents and beneficiaries welcomed the Senator’s visit, describing it as an important opportunity to engage directly with a national leader on issues affecting their lives and communities.
Several community representatives praised Senator Duncan for maintaining close contact with ordinary citizens and supporting grassroots initiatives aimed at improving local livelihoods.
The Peace Island visit forms part of a broader national outreach initiative being undertaken by Senator Duncan to promote economic reforms, encourage civic participation, and engage Liberians in discussions surrounding governance and national development.
According to his office, the campaign will continue in various communities across the country as part of efforts to build public awareness around policies intended to create economic opportunities and improve living conditions for Liberians.
