MONROVIA — The opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has expressed deep sorrow following the sudden passing of senior partisan Elijah Tamba Bundoo, affectionately known as “Chief Pa Bundoo.”
In an official statement signed by National Chairman Atty. Janga Augustus Kowo on June 17, 2026, the party extended its condolences on behalf of Political Leader former President George M. Weah Sr., the National Executive Committee, and the party’s grassroots membership. The party described the late patriarch as a “pillar of strength” and a “fountain of wisdom” for his community.
The CDC expressed strong solidarity with his daughter, Ambassador Finda Bundoo, who served as the former National Chairperson of the CDC Women’s League and as Chief of Protocol at the Executive Mansion during the Weah administration. The party praised her service and noted that the discipline and patriotism she displayed in her roles were a direct reflection of the values instilled by her late father.
Condolences were also extended to the wider bereaved family, the residents of District 8 (Montserrado County), the Bishop Brooks Community, Perry Street, and the people of Foya, Lofa County.
