Monrovia, Liberia – May 8, 2026 – The Ministry of Health, through the National Health Intelligence Center (NHIC), in partnership with SAND Technologies and TRIBE, has officially launched an intensive Enumerator Training Program for the nationwide Connected Facilities Assessment aimed at advancing Liberia’s digital health transformation agenda.
The exercise marks a significant step toward the modernization of Liberia’s healthcare system through the planned implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) across health facilities nationwide.
The training is preparing enumerators with the technical skills, digital tools, and operational knowledge required to conduct a comprehensive EMR Readiness Assessment in selected hospitals and health centers across the country.
The assessment will examine key indicators including digital infrastructure, connectivity, governance systems, workforce capacity, data management, and clinical service delivery readiness.
According to the Ministry, the nationwide assessment will run from May 8 to May 20, 2026, with trained assessment teams deployed across selected counties to gather critical data that will guide the government’s long-term strategy for sustainable EMR implementation and health system strengthening.
The initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in improving healthcare efficiency, strengthening evidence-based decision-making, enhancing patient record management, and promoting quality healthcare delivery throughout Liberia.
The Ministry of Health emphasized that the assessment forms part of broader national efforts to build a resilient, technology-driven healthcare system capable of delivering faster, safer, and more reliable healthcare services to Liberians.
The Ministry also expressed appreciation to County Health Teams, hospital administrators, healthcare workers, and development partners for their continued cooperation and commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the nationwide exercise.
Health authorities believe the initiative will lay the foundation for a more connected, data-driven, and patient-centered healthcare system that meets international standards and improves health outcomes across Liberia.
