Monrovia Liberia — Montserrado County District #1 Representative Rugie Yatu Barry is continuing efforts to drive development and improve living conditions across communities in the district through direct engagement with citizens.
As part of her ongoing development outreach, Representative Barry on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, visited Yarkpai Town in Marquoi Clan where she met with residents, local authorities, and community leaders to discuss major challenges affecting the area.
The meeting, attended by Todee Statutory District Superintendent Emmanuel Davis and Tubmanville Township Commissioner Azarta Flomo, focused on critical development priorities including security and healthcare.
During the engagement, citizens appealed for the construction of a police station to strengthen security and maintain peace within the community. Residents also stressed the urgent need for a clinic to improve access to healthcare services for women, children, and the surrounding towns.
Representative Barry reaffirmed her commitment to working with community leaders and stakeholders to address the needs of the people and promote sustainable development throughout District #1.
