Monrovia, Liberia – June 12, 2026 – The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) has reaffirmed its commitment to discipline, professionalism, and accountability following the arrest of one of its ambulance drivers in connection with an incident involving the Presidential motorcade on Friday.
In a press statement issued on June 12, the Fire Service acknowledged a statement released by the Executive Protection Service (EPS) concerning the driver’s arrest and said it is treating the matter with the seriousness it deserves.
The institution said it remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct and respect for the country’s laws and established security protocols.
According to the statement, the leadership of the Liberia National Fire Service immediately launched internal administrative procedures after being informed of the incident. The agency also disclosed that it is fully cooperating with the Liberia National Police, the Executive Protection Service, and other relevant authorities to ensure a thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation.
The Fire Service emphasized that it supports all lawful efforts to establish the facts surrounding the incident and will continue to cooperate with investigators throughout the process.
LNFS further stressed that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any conduct that compromises public safety, violates national security procedures, or damages the reputation and integrity of the institution.
The agency noted that, as one of Liberia’s key emergency response and public safety institutions, it remains committed to protecting lives and property while working closely with other security agencies to promote public safety, law and order, and national security.
The Fire Service also thanked the public for its continued confidence and assured Liberians that it will continue to uphold the principles of discipline, integrity, professionalism, and dedicated public service.
